RLCBats has some facts and tips on questions you might have about our bats.

Tips:
- Be sure to hit with the label facing up or down.  By doing so, you will be hitting the ball on the bat's strongest surface.  By hitting on that side, you will find the "sweet spot" on your bat.  Just as using a metal bat, hitting the baseball squarely on the sweet spot will help you reach the fences.

Wooden Bat Facts:
Here are some facts, and questions that all players using wood bats
should ask and know.

Q 1: Do wood bats come in the same size and weight as aluminum bats?

Fact: Wood bats are very close in shape and style as aluminum bats, but
tend to be a bit heavier than aluminum. The feel of a wood bat will
always seem more end loaded then an aluminum bat.

Q 2: Do wood bats help players hit better than aluminum bats?

Fact: In most cases the answer is yes. Wood bats teach players to use
only the sweet-spot of the bat to get solid contact. Hits that you
would normally get with an aluminum bat can break a wood bat, and leave
you standing at the plate.

Q 3: Will I hit the ball farther or harder with a wood bat?

Fact: The distance that the ball travels has more to do with the hitter
than the bat. Wood bats help teach hitters to use there whole body to
swing, instead of just their arms or hands.

Q 4: How long will a wood bat last?

Fact: There is no real answer for that question because it depends on
the individual hitter. Some wood bats last a lifetime, while others
break on the first swing. The only way to get the longest life out of your bat is to concentrate
on hitting with the sweet spot label up.

Q 5: What is the difference between maple and ash wood?

Fact: Some players have said that maple is a harder and longer lasting
wood. Maple has a cross grain pattern, while ash does not. This growth
pattern gives maple its harder and stronger makeup. Ash bats have more
flex because of its softer makeup.

Q 6: What is a pro cup?

Fact: A pro cup, is the name given to the cup taken out of the top of
the bats. By putting a pro cup into a bat, the weight of the bat can be
reduced by as much as 1oz. By adding a pro cup to your bat, you will
get a more balance feel while hitting.

Q 7: What will a 32", 33", or 34" bat weigh?

Fact: Most wood bats are 1, 2, or 3 oz lighter than their length.
Special models can be ordered to be heavier than the length. Our
recommendation is to always go with a -2 weight drop to get the
strongest wood possible for the specific model.

Q 9: Can I get my name or team info on a bat?

Fact: RLCBats can customize any bat with any player name or other
info. (please call for more details)

Q 10: What colors do wood bats come in?

Fact: Wood bats come in many colors. Just look for the color blocks on
the RLCBats order page and choose the style that fits you best.

There is one very important fact to remember when buying a wood bat.
The hitter and his swing is the single most important factor to
remember while playing baseball. Wood bats help hitters learn how to
hit harder and swing faster. With practice, training, and a quality
wood bat, all players can develop into great hitters.
